Something woke me up, which, as a coda, should have been a signal that something was not right. One of the false assumptions about deaf people is that they’re quiet. No, they have NO regulation of sounds. They are burping and slamming cabinets and banging pots and pans… they are obnoxiously loud! And… you just tune out the sounds of everyday life. But this night, it was three in the morning and something woke me up.
